Get unstuck in your career

For the past 20 years, I have been helping people navigate their career changes and job searches. It’s something that I’m really passionate about and really good at! I believe that every single person has a unique set of gifts which can really make a difference. The language that is sometimes used to describe jobs and increasingly elaborate job titles don’t always help people realise the value that they bring to an organisation. I can help you develop that narrative in a way that feels authentic.

Reasons I offer career coaching:

  • People keep asking for my help!

  • I have a lot of interest and experience in this area

  • I absolutely love helping people get unstuck

  • Your success is my success!

What I can help you with

I offer a range of services, but typically help my clients with:

  • career mapping and strategy

  • job description analysis

  • CV writing

  • cover letters

  • interview preparation

  • preparing a pitch or a presentation

What my clients say

‘Linda possesses an exceptional aptitude for swiftly comprehending the intricacies of her clients’ present circumstances and their envisioned aspirations.’ – VD

‘Her magic is to coax out of you the skills, attributes and interests that demonstrate your attractiveness to future employers in your chosen space.’ – KH

‘If I were to single out a specific thing that really made a difference for me, it would be her ability to zero in on the perfect words to convey exactly what it is you want to say about yourself, which will resonate with employers and pitch you at the right level.’ – AK

What it’s like to work with me

To guarantee that we will work well together, I need to be upfront about the fact that working on your career will include homework for you.

You remain the expert at what you are best at, and as much as I can facilitate the process and help you get started at the different stages, it will require you to dig quite deep into your past professional experiences and interests.

This is my disclaimer to say that if you are prepared to put in the work, you will see results. But if you signed up to a personal trainer, but then spent all time outside of the gym stuffing your face with chips, we’ll probably not see the results that the PT would expect.

I won’t set you any sit-up reps, but I will share new strategies and techniques with you that will challenge your thinking. All I’m asking is that you’ll wholeheartedly give them a go. (They have worked for everyone else.)

Making an impact

It can be really hard to sell yourself at an interview. But the selling job starts a lot earlier than that! The first thing that you need to work out, is what you’re naturally good at, what you’re interested in, and where you have experience. You don’t need to have all three, but it helps.

Did you know that the average hiring manager spends approx four seconds looking at a CV before they decide to put you in the ‘Yay’ or ‘Nay’ pile? That’s why it’s essential to write a CV that keeps you in contention, without giving away too much. Save some stories for the interview!

Regarding the interview, I help my clients to think of it as a contact sport where they are as much as asking the questions as the interviewer is. You want to establish whether this is the right job for you!
